In this Module:

As our population ages, we see an increasing number of people diagnosed with varying forms of dementia, ranging from Alzheimer’s to Vascular Dementia.

It is our responsibility to care for these residents with respect, compassion, and dignity. To make a difference, we need to understand the impact of dementia on resident’s senses. Changes to how people think, see, taste and move can all affect the way meals and mealtimes are experienced.

This training module has been designed for all staff involved in making and serving food in aged care homes. It has been developed in consultation with experts and peak organisations.
